Sending LOVE to Zimbabwe

Good Morning Creatives!

I had the greatest opportunity lately to help a girl fulfill her dreams for Africa.

If you’ve followed me at all, you know I have a heart for an organization name Saving Grace {go check it out!!} and recently one of the girls who used to live there asked if I would host a Social Artworking fundraiser to help fund her upcoming missions trip to Zimbabwe.

She had the chance to go there last year and spend 2 weeks in an orphanage. She has amazing stories of attacking gorillas, potential malaria that ended up being a gas leak and introducing third-world kids to popcorn.

For her class, she decided on the “What a Wonderful World” globe.

We were honored to use Saving Grace’s space for our class. Saving Grace is housed in an old nun’s quarter’s of a former hospital turned not-for-profit center. The “classroom” is the former chapel, complete with original stained glass.

Here’s some pics of the fun!!

Every class is better with a Selfie!!

Serious Concentration!!!

This is Ashley! This is all for her!

Sarah, who works for Saving Grace, stopped by to paint with us!
I love how these ladies came together to encourage each other through the whole process.

Work in progress….look at that beautiful vintage stained glass!!!

Ashley decided to display her finished canvas with her other souvenirs from Zimbabwe to remind her of her purpose:
