Today is a continuation of a blog I wrote earlier this week called “You Are Beautiful – Changing the Filter Among Christian Women.” {check it out!}
In my blog post, I challenged we as Christian women to change how we filter what comes in and goes out of our hearts. We live in a society that is always reminding us that WE are beautiful, but it never reminds us that OTHERS are beautiful and different and that’s OK.
On my YouTube Channel, I decided to have a fun play day in my art journal using that idea of YOU are Beautiful. I wanted this page to be a reminder of both sides of the coin.
Project
I recently received some new goodies from Ranger Ink, The Crafter’s Workshop, Art Foamies and Joggles so I decided to put them all together in a project, along with some leftover Gel Press prints.
I’ll put a full product list at the very end!
Using my heat gun not only speeds up my creative time, but by carefully heating acrylic paint you can add texture to your project.
I LOVE using bits and pieces of leftover Gel Press Prints for my backgrounds because it adds instant color and texture. One of my subscribers commented that she saw a little bird house with a heart shaped door next to the “i” in beautiful. And you know what? She is so right! Do you see it, too?

This project took me right at an hour to complete.
If you have followed me at all, you know I rarely sit down with a plan and this project was no different. LOL.
That’s what I call “play days.” Where I can just check out of the need to “perform” with my art and just challenge myself to use certain supplies. I think those are some of my favorite vides to film.
Products
Not gonna lie… there was a lot of products used for this project. LOL!
However, you in no way need to use THIS many products to make beautiful art journals. This was just how my play day went.
