Spooky Halloween Plaque with Gel Press®
Good morning creatives!!
It’s officially September and we are daily scooting closer and closer to my favorite season…. FALL! {however…here in Arkansas…you wouldn’t know it. Our temps are still in the upper ’80s/lower ’90s!}
Recently I was playing in my studio with my Gel Press 8×10 Plate and took out some DecoArt Acrylics in Neon orange, Purple Pizzaz and Neon Green. Immedieatly…I thought HALLOWEEN!
Then I realized it was only August…sad face….but then I realized…WHO CARES!! LOL
So cute it’s SPOOKY!
To make this project I started with a plain wooden plaque by Plaid that I bought at Walmart and went to town with my DecoArt paint and Gel Press® Gel Plate.
For a complete step-by-step, check out Gel Press’ blog: Is it too soon for Halloween.
It’s time for a close-up!
I love the way this project turned out!
Here are some closeup pictures.
The addition of bright green and purple into the traditional orange and black Halloween color scheme has been one of my favorite trends of recent years.
Using a black around the edge gives the project a finished look, while the cheesecloth adds a texture and a softness to contrast the wooden letters and plaque.
Googly eyes make everything better right? When I added the letters to my project, the project felt really boring, so I scrounged up these eyes that were the PERFECT size for my “Os.”
