Good Morning Creatives!
Today I am sharing a quick card I recently made for Butterbee Scraps.
Ingredients
For this card, I kept things simple:
Butterbee Scraps
Large Bronze Arrow Tibetan Charm
Large Silver Arrow Tibetan Charm
Large Copper Arrow Tibetan Charm
Vitrail AB Flat Back Glass Rhinestones
Other Supplies
Card Base (Canvas Corp)
Stickers (Hobby Lobby)
Gel Prints (Gel Press)
How to…
When I sat down in my studio, I had all of these BEAUTIFUL prints I had made with my Gel Press Gel Plates that I knew I wanted to tie in with my Butterbee Scraps metal arrows. .
I wanted to keep my card simple so that my arrows were really POP and stand out.
I tore my Gel prints to keep them rustic and added some Tim Holtz Distress ink to give it a grungy look.
If you look at the arrows when they are naked, you can see that they each have a small hole on the feather end. This makes them SUPER easy to thread on wires or necklaces or bracelets or WHATEVER! However, since I was doing a “flat” project, I didn’t want the holes to show. To hide them, I added some BEAUTIFUL Butterbee Scraps Glass Rhinestones.
Final Thoughts
So I know today’s card isn’t as “fancy” as some of my others, but I hope it challenges you to gather just a few supplies and create on a “supply budget.” It makes you think of new ways to look at things and maybe think back to old techniques that maybe you hadn’t used in a while. For me, that was the “tearing” technique I used on the paper, as well as using my Distress Ink to give my project a messy look.
I hope you will check out Butterbee Scraps full line of amazing embellishments and check out her blog for more amazing, yummy projects!
Until next time,
XOXO,
KERI
