Good Morning Creatives!!
Creativation 2017 is over and I have to say it was pretty fantastic!
I thought I would take a minute and share some of my favorite things.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked, but I was so busy having fun and living in the moment that I just totally forgot. 🙂
Creativation Day 1
Day 1 was spent in business classes and helping the Gel Press crew set up the booth.
Of course I had to take an #00td pic each day!
The booth was a colorful wonderland of creativity!
These amazing ladies (and many not pictured!) worked sssooo to make it fabulous. Our signature polka dot banner looked amazing!
After a long days work, the Gel Press group had a blast heading out for some yummy food! I got to meet the Peter, the VP of our parent company and Andrew, one of his top sales guys. They have both been to Bentonville so it was super fun to be able to talk about the same places.
Creativation DAY 2
The floor show officially opened on Saturday morning and I had the opportunity to demo in The Crafter’s Workshop. The have not only some amazing new stencils, but just recently released line of “Mixed Media Goodies” and Heavy Bodied Acrylic paints.
The black modeling paste was my favorite! It was perfect to use with TCW’s newest face stencils and then go back in with the Heavy Bodied Acrylic paint and paint them.
The new stencils and mixed media goodies were a lot of fun to play with in my bible as well.
I also got to see my girl, Cheryl Boglioli, of Living the Art Life! She has been an amazing mentor to me since I met her 4 years ago. We are even birthday twins and we share such a special bond.
As I was done at the TCW booth, my phone rang. It was my Gel Press peeps calling. The Michael’s buyer wanted to see someone demoing Bible Journaling in the Gel Press booth, so I ran over there to whip up a quick demo!
I used the Gel Press Petite Circle and DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics to make my circles and then when I got back to the hotel room after, I added some Illustrated Faith Stickers and Inktense Blocks.
While I was there, I took a picture with my art that was featured in the booth. It was pretty surreal to have a piece in a gallery that was dubbed a “celebrity” gallery. I was displayed with the likes of Dina Wakely, Jamie Dougherty, Dyna Reaveley, Jen Starr and so many other amazing artists.
Gel Press Creative Coordinator, Jen Starr, posted a little video tour…you can see my piece at about 3ish minutes.
Creativation Day 3
Day 3 was my day to demo in the Gel Press booth, so of course I had to wear something crazy and out there!!
BUT…I was so busy…I didn’t get ONE STINKIN’ picture taken of me while I was demoing. Whoops!!! {If someone else did..I will add them later!!}
Before I headed there, I had a little time to wander around the show. Here is a few of my favorite places to visit!
Doodlebug Designs always has the sweetest booths!
How cute is this stamp set?
Bo Bunny is one of my favorite companies. They have partnered with a paint company and are doing some amazing things with mixed media that I can’t wait to try.
What is a Craft and Hobby Show without CAKE?! There was this great sign for the upcoming Cake Fair in October…how fun would this be to go to!?
They even had an entire booth set up where you could learn some fun cake decorating skills.
Of course while I was there, I had to stop by and visit Shanna Noel of Illustrated Faith at the Bella Blvd booth.
I am so proud of her!!
Ranger Ink of course always has these amazing displays for each of their artists. Dina Wakley is one of my favs so I had to take a pic of her art. She was doing a demo, but I was too chicken to go up and talk to her. {insert chicken sound here!}
I can’t remember what this booth was, but I loved this saying!
The Social Artworking booth was a must see. They showed some of the new designs and I got to talk with the coordinator of the program.
DecoArt even had this amazingly fun booth where you could go crazy splatter painting.
Day 4
Day 4 was an easy day. My flight left later that day, so I kept things comfy.
While I had a some free time, I stopped by the Gel Press and helped my sister-friend, Cheryl, out while she taught a Gel Press Workshop in the booth.
I was able to help with this class three times and I learned so much from Cheryl just by being around and fetching paper and towels and such.
What’s next?
All in all, Creativation 2017 was an amazing few days.
There are some very cool things in the works for me and I can’t wait to share them with you.
For now…I would love if you would be praying for me and sending up good vibes and all that kind of stuff.
Until next time…
XOXO,
KERI
