Bible Journaling Class….CHECK!!!
Good Morning Creatives!
At the beginning of this year, I made a list of accomplishments for 2016. One of those accomplishments was to get our of my introvert, scaredy-cat comfort zone and teach classes at a local place called The Hobby House.
She and I had been chatting back and forth for a year and honestly….I allowed myself to be controlled by fear. What if no one signs up? What if they DO? What if they come and don’t like the class? What if they come and don’t like me?
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know that my One Little Word for 2016 is “JUMP,” so I did it! I contact the owner named Dora and said “Hey…I want to do these classes. What dates do you have available?”
And I did it.
My first class was a Bible Journaling Class this past Tuesday.
I set up the event. I promoted it. I prepared for it.
And I had 3 people.
To some people..they would be disappointed, but I remembered Zechariah 4:10
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin
I took the first step to accomplishing my 2016 goals. That’s what it takes…one baby JUMP at a time.
Here is some of the fun pictures from our night!
Each person got a Bible Journaling “starter kit” that included a handmade journal (made by me!) so that they could practice without fear of “messing up” in their Bibles or incase they didn’t have one yet.
Everything was prepped and ready for my 3 precious students. I brought lots of extra goodies for them to play with!
I had my 3 Bibles that I journal is (only 1 of which is an actual “journaling” bible) because I wanted to be able to show them what we were learning in a finished product.
Look how hard they are working! And you see the one in the middle? She is an 11 year old Bible Journaler who came with her grandmother. How precious is that!?!?
After discussing what Bible Journaling is, why we do it and learning some new techniques, we watched a sermon by my pastor, Pastor Casey Henagan of Keypoint Church.
I did this so that the girls could take notes on his sermon and then be able to use the new skills they had learned to begin to document their faith IMMEDIATELY instead of waiting for “when they had time.”
So I did it! They did it! We did it!!!!
It was a good night all around.
If you live in the area, we are doing it all again on March 8th from 7pm-10pm. I would love to have you.

XOXO,
Keri
Congratulations Keri! I’m so excited for you. I’m still letting fear stand in the way of teaching but I am going to take the leap to sell my art this year. Teaching may be around the corner soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
